ScoreCam » Purchases

I purchased a monthly subscription. Is the livestream option for one device only? I tried the restore function unsuccessfully.

All In-App purchases, including subscriptions, can be used across multiple devices, as long as you are using the same Apple ID.

Here is the FAQ link on how to restore: http://scorecam.pydmsw.com/faq/index.php?action=artikel&cat=2&id=6&artlang=en

Most users who have this issue are using a family plan and, unfortunately, In-App purchases do not work for multiple Apple IDs in a family plan. This is not our policy but one that Apple requires.

the good news is that Apple will not allow you to make the same purchase twice when using the same Apple ID so even if you try to buy it again, you will be presented with a dialog that basically says, "You already made this purchase, would you like to restore?"

Just make sure you are 100% sure which Apple ID you used for the original purchase and the Restore button will work.

Restoring and purchasing is all handled by Apple so if it's not working, maybe try reinstalling the app or restarting the device.

It could also be the case where you installed the app with one ID and tried purchasing with another. That will likely cause issues, so make sure you install the app with the same ID as well.

Can my wife use my live streaming subscription on her phone? We plan to privately stream our kids’ games to each other but don’t want to pay $20 for both phones to work. Thanks

I purchased the pro version, can it be shared between my iPad and iPhone as well as wife iPhone on family share? I have the basic downloaded on iPhone but it doesn’t allow me to access pro version on iPad?

Unfortunately Apple does not allow family share to work with in app purchases.

If you want it across multiple devices you have to use the same Apple ID. Or you can log out of the existing Apple ID and login with the one you made the purchase. And then relogin with the ID you want.

Is the PRO version price per year or per month?

The PRO version In-App purchase is a one-time charge for as long as the app is available on the App Store. In other words, the PRO version is not a subscription.

However, the PRO version does not include Live Streaming, so if you will ever be needing that you should try the monthly or yearly subscription as those In-App purchases include everthing in the PRO version as well as Live Streaming (and any other added features in future versions of ScoreCam)

How does the 1-Week Free Trial work?

When you purchase the 1 Month or 1 Year subscription you have 1 free week to evaluate ScoreCam.

If you decide you would like to cancel the subscription, you can do that by following these instructions which are provide by Apple.

You will still be able to use ScoreCam until your free week has expired so be sure to take advantage of that! If you decide later you do want to subscribe, after you have cancelled, you can simply renew the subscription ... but you would not keep getting a free week each time.

What are the limitations when no In-App content is purchased?

It is highly recommended to use the 1 week FREE trial when evaluating ScoreCam, because, after all, it is FREE and you get FULL functionality.

However, if you have not made any In-App purchases and do not want to use the FREE trial, you are limited to 2 minutes (or 120 seconds) of video recording time and do not have access to the PRO features. In addition, you are not able to make any modifications to the scoreboard and you are not able to use the Scoreboard Remote features.

What package do I need to purchase to allow me to video a game & start / stop multiple times , yet only have a single recording?

Any of the In-App purchases will do what you are asking. PRO version will allow you access to more features/scoreboard designs and if you want Live Streaming you must purchase one of the subscriptions.

PRO and Starter Pack are both one-time charges.

How do I get a refund?

There is a free week trial so you have plenty of time to unsubscribe without paying anything. If you are past the free week, you can possibly get a refund by sending a request to Apple: Request a refund for an App Store or iTunes Store purchase

Note: Apple manages refunds and we don't have control on whether you will get one or not. If you don't do this often and you are within a week or so into your subscription you should have no issues.

I purchased the Pro features on my iPhone but when I try to restore the purchase on my iPad (which is signed into the same Apple ID), it does not restore my purchase. Any advice on how to get my iPad to recognize my purchase?

It seems some users install the app using one Apple ID and then try to restore using the Apple ID used to purchase ScoreCam features. Here are the steps which will allow you to restore your purchase on multiple devices:

  1. Remove the ScoreCam app (do this in case you installed the app using a different Apple ID)
  2. Verify you are using the Apple ID you used to purchase the app: Settings->iTunes & App Stores (other family plan Apple ID's won't work)
  3. Install ScoreCam from the App Store
  4. Open ScoreCam and go to Settings->Purchase (w/ Free Trial) or Restore (may take a minute or so to show something so be patient)
  5. Tap the 'Restore' button (may not even need to do this step).

I just purchased the pro app last week and used the remote feature and it was amazing. I am now wanting to purchase the live stream feature with pro but I just paid for the pro last weekend. If I get the app is the amount pro rated ?

First off, thank you for purchasing and supporting ScoreCam!

Unfortunately there is no current path to upgrade from PRO to Subscription. Apple handles all the financials so there is no way for me to give you a refund directly. However, I would suggest you ask for a refund from Apple and then go ahead and purchase the subscription.

Here is the official support link from Apple on how to get a refund: Request a refund for an App Store or iTunes Store purchase

How do I upgrade from a monthly subscription to a yearly subscription?

First thing to do is to make sure you cancel your subscription to avoid auto-renewal. Your monthly subscription will be valid until the expiration date and, at that point, you will be able to re-subscribe to the subscription of your choice (annual or monthly).

As a reminder, you can learn how to manage your iTunes Subscriptions and cancel ScoreCam Pro through this link:

I paid for the yearly subscription and then recently I got another email from Apple saying they were going to charge me again. How do I get this straightened out?

If you got charged twice using the same Apple ID then that must be a system error on Apple's Part. Please contact them.

The likely cause of this is due to using "Larger Text" setting under the devices General -> Accessibility settings. Once there, turn OFF the "Larger Accessibility Sizes" and ScoreCam settings should appear normal again.

Somehow ‘Save Files Locally’ was enabled so while my videos are accessible for playback from within the ScoreCam App they don’t appear to be available for uploading via the Photos Library. Is there a way to transfer the ‘local’ files to my Photos Library?

Yes, you can transfer the files to the Photos app. Here are the steps:

1) Tap the Library icon
2) If you see 'Photos Library' at the top, tap the 'View Local Files' at bottom of screen
3) Tap the 'Select' button in the top-right corner of the screen
4) Tap the videos you would like to move or copy
5) Tap the Share icon at bottom-left corner of the screen and choose one of the options to transfer to the Photos library

And yes, make sure the Setting 'Save Videos Locally' is toggled OFF to save future videos to the Photos App.

I have a question about streaming with ScoreCam. Can I still pause the recording? Also is the video quality that gets recorded the same as what gets streamed or is it the the quality that is in settings? I know streaming is less quality and I want to make sure I am recording the higher quality when I watch later.

To answer the first question, YES, when you are Live Streaming AND you have "Save Video While Streaming" enabled you can pause the recording. (Live Stream will not be paused and will continue streaming until you stop recording/streaming).

The quality of what gets recorded is indeed the quality that is in the Settings (1080p by default). So if you have "Med (720p, 2.5Mbps)" set for Live Streaming, you are still recording the saved video at 1080p (or whatever you have set under the "Video Output (PRO)" settings.

Does the App support 1080p 60fps? The App doesn’t seem to have the same refresh rate as the native camera app.

No, ScoreCam currently only supports 30fps. We are currently testing this feature and hope to have a release soon but there is no definitive timeframe on when this will be available.

When streaming, there are audio and video settings. Do these affect the quality of the video being saved on the device? Or, is it just the video that is streaming?

The Live Stream Video and Audio quality settings should only affect the Live Stream and not what's saved on the device.

For example, you can stream at 720p but you can save at 1080p.

Help, I can't find my videos that ScoreCam said were saved. They are nowhere to be found in the Photos app and I've looked everywhere.

Verify that you are not using the "Save Videos Locally" option. If you are then your videos can be found by tapping the folders-looking icon (Library icon). From there you should be able to view your video files.

If it's not selected, again, tap the library icon and then tap "View Local Files" at bottom of that screen and you should then be able to view any files that did not save to the Photos library directly.

You can then "Select" those files and tap the Share icon at bottom left and then copy the files to the Photos library.

NOTE: It is highly recommended to turn OFF the "Save Videso Locally" option as these files will be lost if you ever delete the ScoreCam app.

I recorded a game Locally but now I cannot upload them to Google drive. How do I move the files to the Photo Library where I can then upload them to Google drive?

If you saved the files locally, you can view them by taping the Library icon. If you don't see them immediately you can then tap "View Local Files" at the bottom of the window. From there you can tap the 'Select' button to select the video and then tap the Share icon (lower left corner) and then copy the selected video file to your photos library.

If you are saving videos locally it is highly recommended to toggle that off so that the videos go immediately to the Photos library without doing the above steps. (Plus you won't lose any videos if you ever delete the ScoreCam app.

My screen keeps going dark when I try to use the remote app

Try turning off the 'Dim Display when Connected' setting on the ScoreCam device. If you mean this issue is occurring on your Remote device than you can change that under your device's display settings (Settings app, 'Display & Brightness')

When using stabilization (I am also using 4K Video) the saved video appears "jerky" or "choppy" (jitter) and is not smooth like it is with the Apple Camera app.

First thing to check is to make sure your device supports "High Efficiency" format (iPhone 7 or better; iPad 6th generation or better). See Apple support document Using HEVC media on Apple devices for more information.

If your device supports "High Efficiency" format make sure this is selected under the "Video Format" setting (under Video Output, with "Custom Settings" enabled)

If your device does not support "High Efficiency" format (setting set to "Most Compatible" or not shown) you should not use 4K Video otherwise you will see these video artifacts.

I get "Saving Error in Photos Library" whenever saving videos. The error message also states: "Videos could not be saved to the Photos library but should be available in Local Library". Why is this happening?

This error commonly occurs when you are uings 4K Video (and/or you are using stabilization) and your "Video Format" is set to "Most Compatible".

ScoreCam does not support this mode and will be prevented in a future update but in the mean time change your "Video Format" setting to "High Efficiency" (Settings with Custom Settings enabled) and that should prevent most of these errors.

How can I disable audio and still record video? Or remove the audio completely before sharing? This is crucial, so kids don’t hear all the crappy comments that some parents make while I am recording.

There is a setting, "Mute Recorded Audio" you can enable on ScoreCam.

There are also many tools you can use to remove audio after the fact. iMovie should be able to do this.

Avidemux is a free tool and, once you figure out how to use, it's really fast (passthrough): https://www.fosshub.com/Avidemux.html (May need to look here for the latest Mac version: https://www.fosshub.com/Avidemux-old.html)

Handbrake is a free tool as well but does not appear to have a passthrough option and can be really slow to re-encode the video (link: https://handbrake.fr)

While recording using customized video (HighEfficiency, 1080p at 30fps) the view is fine but once I play it back it’s grainy and blurry. This started happening with the latest release (3.4.0). How can I fix this?

UPDATE: This has been fixed in ScoreCam version 3.5.0 or higher so be sure to download the latest version from the App Store.

Thank you for reporting this issue as we have confirmed it's a bug using custom settings. Try turning off the Custom Settings which will still record in High Efficiency and use 1080p at 30fps.

Another option is to use one of the 60fps "Video Resolution" settings (1080p at 60fps or 720 at 60fps) as these are unaffected by this bug.

Lastly, if you need a version that works with the 30fps custom setting please contact us via the ScoreCam app (Settings-> Send Feedback/Bug Report) and we will provide a test version to use until a new release becomes available.

The video resolution is quite poor when I use custom video settings 1080p at 60fps. I compared with the video directly recorded from iPhone. How do I fix this?

60fps is a little tricky and some adjustments may be required.

First thing is to make sure you are using "High Efficiency" and not "Most Compatible" for the video format.

If that doesn't help, try doubling the "Avg bitrate" and then decreasing until you get something that is acceptable.

Remember, bitrate is tied to quality but is also directly tied to file size so the smaller the bitrate the smaller the file size.

There are also reports of "focus hunting" when using 60fps so be sure to manually set the focus (tap and hold on screen until you see "AE/AF Locked". Tap and hold again to turn this off).

I am saving videos locally. Before the update I was easily able to move the videos to my photos library without any issues. Now, sometimes, when I try to copy my videos to photos, it gives me an error message saying it couldn't save. Can you please fix this bug so it doesn't happen anymore?

Saving videos locally is a legacy feature which isn't recommend and is only used for recovering videos when an error occurred during recording.

As for the change (removing the "Move" option), some users were having issues moving videos so this is now a two-step process where you need to first copy the video to the Photos Library and then delete the video from the local library. This requires more temp space but is safer and you won't risk losing the video.

ScoreCam » Scoreboard Settings

Is there anyway to quickly hide/show the scoreboard? I know you can go to settings but it would be nice to have it available on screen. I prefer to not have the scoreboard show a the time during the action.

From the ScoreCam app you can do this by tapping the recording label (iPhone) or the Scoreboard ON/OFF button (iPad).

On Scoreboard Remote, you can also do this by tapping the recording label
BTW, You can also do this from Settings while recording, with no ill effects, and it's only one extra tap for the remote as the settings are auto-dismissed on the toggle.

I love the new Volleyboard design but I can't get any scores to show up!

So changes are your score colors are white and the score panel backgrounds are also white (or the same colors).

You can change this from the scoreboard settings (tap and hold in the scoreboard area), and then tapping "Team Names, Colors & more'. From that screen, the easiest thing to do is tap the "Reset Colors (Volleyboard defaults)" and then you can verify scores are now shown.

After that, you can return to the screen and modify the colors to your liking.

I’m trying to use the new Volleyball scoreboard. I’m not sure how to end a game (set). I guess I’m asking how to change the set tally values. Also, I’d like to use Scoreboard Remote, if possible.

If not using Scoreboard Remote, you can change the Set values of the new Volleball scoreboard with a Tap-and-Hold on the scoreboard (to bring up the scoreboard settings) and then scrolling to bottom of screen and updating the "Set" scores.

To change set scores from Scoreboard Remote, the option are you looking for is under Settings, "Show Set Scores".

Once these are shown you can tap the set score and it will bring up an input screen (Although this will change in next version where a tap will increase the set score and a tap-and-hold will bring up the input screen)

I prefer to match the scoreboard color to the uniform color of the teams. You have some colors available, but it would be great if custom colors were an option where you had a color palette and could choose the closest match.

You're in luck! You can use any color by entering in a HTML HEX color code available at the bottom of the 'colors' screen. One day we will come up with a color 'picker' to make this easier but that's currently low on the priority list.

Here is a good website where you can pick the color you like and then copy the HTML HEX color code needed to enter into ScoreCam: HTML Color Picker

How to switch (or change) the scoreboard?

To switch the scoreboard use the Scoreboard Settings, which can be accessed two ways: Tap Settings (gear icon) and the tap "Scoreboard Settings". Or, Tap-and-hold (Longpress) anywhere on the scoreboard. From there you would tap the "Scoreboard Style" to change scoreboards.

Since the last update, when I select the Custom Settings I use for Periscope the video saved is “digitized”. If I do not use the Custom Settings the saved video is fine.

If by "digitized" you mean a low resolution, then I can see why based on your settings. You have selected "Most Compatible" for your Video Format and only '4' for your Avg bitrate settings.

This will produce a small footprint from a disk space standpoint but will result it very bad quality. I would recommend the "High Efficiency" format and at least '8' for the Avg bitrate. But if you do that then you should just turn off custom settings, as that will get you the same thing but more optimized.

If you want to retain "Most Compatible", then use at least '16' for the Avg bitrate. Remember, the lower the bitrate the lower the quality and less amount of disk space used. Play around with this setting to get your ideal video quality. I.e., it may be much higher than the '16' recommended.

I’m not able to change first set in volleyball to second set. How is this done?

If you are not controlling ScoreCam via the Scoreboard Remote app, you simple go to the Scoreboard Settings (Tap-and-hold on the scoreboard area) and change the 'Set' number from the display window.

You can also get to the Scoreboard Settings from by tapping the gear icon and tapping the "Scoreboard Settings" item.

For the Longboard II scoreboard, how do you change the FIRST SET value?

The Longboard II scoreboard is a little different depending on if you have the "Game Type" field assigned to "Set" or not.

If the "Game Type" field is "SET" or "Set" then there is a section at the bottom of the Scoreboard Settings which allows you to change the number of sets won for each team.

For example, if the Set Score is 0-0, the scoreboard will read, "FIRST SET". If the Set Score is 1-0, the scoreboard will read, "TEAMXYZ LEADS 1-0". If it's then 1-1, the scoreboard will read, "MATCH TIED", and so on.

If the "Game Type" field is anything else, there will be the game type field in the middle of the two scores just like it is for other scoreboards.

Would it be possible to add copy/paste capability to the Team Names and Game Type Titles (under Team Names, Colors & More/Other Settings)?

You can actually already do this but it can be a bit tricky. There are two options:

1) Just tap again on the blinking cursor | (vertical line thingy) on the left side where you are adding text. You have to be exact on your tap and may take a few tries but that is the Apple way to bring this up when there is no text.

2) Type a couple letters and then tap those letters and you can now select your text and then you will also have Paste ability.

Scoreboard Remote

My Bluetooth connection with my Scoreboard Remote on my iPhone SE is terminated every 15-20 seconds but used to work just fine a few months ago, any ideas what may be going on?

One user had an issue with a 3rd party app (Chipolo key finder) installed which may cause conflicts so first thing to do is take a look at other 3rd party bluetooth connections and try turning those off. Other suggestions include:

  • Restart both devices

I am trying to use the Scoreboard Remote to connect to ScoreCam but nothing shows up in the list of devices. What's going on?

The following devices are required to support BTLE (Bluetooth Low energy or Bluetooth 4.0):

  • iPhone 4S or better
  • iPad 3rd Generation
  • iPod Touch 5th generation or newer

As long as both devices (ScoreCam and Scoreboard Remote) meet the above requirements you should have no connection issues.

Settings appear nearly unreadable, can you help?

The likely cause of this is due to using "Larger Text" setting under the devices General -> Accessibility settings. Once there, turn OFF the "Larger Accessibility Sizes" and ScoreCam settings should appear normal again.

Longboard II scoreboard:

  • If you choose a 'Game Type' other than Set or Game, you can use this scoreboard for any sport, not just those with 'Sets'.
    • If you also choose '0' for the set number, that number will no longer be displayed and you can specify anything you like in that area.

Once you connect to the remote it is expected behavior to take the scores, set information, etc., from Scoreboard Remote and sync them up to ScoreCam.

You can then change the Set from Scoreboard Remote by tapping on the set number. You can also change it from ScoreCam and it will sync back to the connected remote. Once connected, any changes on ScoreCam or Scoreboard Remote will sync in either direction. (Except for Game Clock information. If connected, it is only one way: Remote to ScoreCam)

How do you connect a remote to ScoreCam?

Before downloading both Scoreboard Remote to ScoreCam, make sure both devices meet the following requirements and support BTLE (Bluetooth Low energy or Bluetooth 4.0):

  • iPhone 4S or better
  • iPad 3rd Generation
  • iPod Touch 5th generation or newer

In addition, verify bluetooth is enable on both devices. From an Apple Support Document:

On your iOS device, go to Settings > Bluetooth and make sure that Bluetooth is on. If you can't turn on Bluetooth or you see a spinning gear, restart your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch.

If both devices meet this criteria and bluetooth is eabled then, to connect, you do the following steps:

On the Scoreboard Remote device:

  1. Launch Scoreboard Remote
  2. Tap the "Tap to Connect to ScoreCam" area

On the ScoreCam device:

  1. Launch ScoreCam
  2. Tap the bluetooth icon in upper left hand corner
  3. The Scoreboard Remote device will now show up in the list of the "Scanning for Remotes" screen

ScoreCam » Live Streaming

What do all the Live Streaming settings mean?

ScoreCam indicates that I am Streaming Live but YouTube (or other service) says it is not receiving data. What to do?

Allow a minute or two of streaming for the indicators to show accurate information. If the health indicator is showing a gray color there is no data being uploaded so make sure you have an internet connection and it supports streaming. You may have to call your internet service provider.
A green indication is what you want but sometimes that is not possible, especially if you are competing for bandwidth at a tournament where WiFi and phone services are at their peak. A red indicator means likely means your stream will appear choppy and are dropping video frames.
Some other things to try:

I am using Live Streaming with the YouTube Stream Now option and couldn't connect. I found out that my Stream Name/Key changed. Do you know if YouTube automatically changes this periodically?

When Live Streaming does not appear to be working as expected, especially after it's been working in the past, it is recommended that the first thing to check and verify is the "Stream name/key."

And yes, the YouTube stream name/key has changed without notice in our testing in the past. We do not know when or why Google/YouTube changes these settings but it sure would be nice if they notified users of these changes.

It is encouraged for users to reach out to suppport when you have issues like these. Here are some ways to contact YouTube: https://www.wikihow.com/Contact-YouTube

And you ever get a response, please pass along any useful information.

Do viewers of the live stream need to purchase to watch? How many viewers can watch a live stream? Is the stream private?

ScoreCam uses streaming services which do not require any fees to watch the Live Stream (YouTube Live, Twitch, Periscope). The number of viewers that can watch the stream depends on the service but, currently, there are no limits.

As for privacy, if using YouTube Live, for example, you can make the stream Public, Private or Unlisted. Here is more information for YouTube Live: https://support.google.com/youtube/answer/157177

YouTube now requires 1000 subscribers to Live Stream on mobile devices. How does this affect ScoreCam users?

You are correct, at least for mobile streaming using the YouTube app. Here is the link and offcial text, as of April of 2019:

We’ve recently raised the threshold for YouTube Live with a mobile device. To be able to live stream on mobile, your channel will need to have at least 1,000 subscribers.

Note that this eligibility threshold does not apply to other live streaming tools. Creators who have less than 1,000 subscribers will still be able to live stream through desktop and webcam.

Currently this does not appear to affect ScoreCam users but this could change at any moment and there is nothing we can do about any future changes.

Recommendations: Give Twitch a try as it seems to produce better quality videos and the lag time is a lot less. At least have it as a backup in case YouTube stops working for users with less than 1000 subscribers.

I am using YouTube to Live Stream. Is there a way to point my users to the latest live stream? If the stream disconnects and I have to stat a new one it's a pain to notify everyone again.

Yes, there are at least a couple options and depends on which version you are using for Live Streaming with YouTube.

If you are using YouTube Authentication, just point your users to you channel page: https://www.youtube.com/channel/<your_channel_id>. This page will show them a list of all your streams, including the one you are currently live streaming.

If you are using YouTube Stream Now, and as long as you don't change your Stream Key, you can simply point them to a your latest Stream with this link: https://www.youtube.com/embed/live_stream?channel=<your_channel_id>

My iPhone 6s+ heats up all the time when I use Scorecam app, is this normal?

Extra CPU is required to embed a scoreboard which therefore causes extra heat.

Older iPhones which don't support HEVC also run hotter and even moreso if you are trying to use 60fps.

You may want to force quit the ScoreCam process after each recording and see if that helps.

Live Streaming requires even more CPU cycles so you may want to "not save to disk" when live streaming as that will help the device run cooler as well.

Can ScoreCam record video at 60 fps (frames per second)?

Currently ScoreCam can only record up to 30 frames per second. This is due to the extra processing required to display and embed the scoreboard in realtime onto the video.

That said, with the newer technology, this will be revisited and has been added as a feature request.

Where are my videos and why do videos no longer get saved to the Photos Library in the Photos app?

Disable the "Save Videos Locally" option under settings to save photos and videos directly to the Photos Library.

In case of a crash during recording, videos are still recovered in the "Local Files" area (Library -> "View Local Files" button at bottom of screen)

I shut down the app before my video saved, did I lose it?

You shouldn't.

if you simply tapped the home button or switched between apps and you come back to ScoreCam in a reasonable amount of time then ScoreCam simply pauses the app and you can tap the resume button and continue on recording.

If you force close the app or you don't come back to ScoreCam within a few minutes, ScoreCam will then save your video in your Local Libraries area (tap the Library icon and the tap "View Local Files" at bottom of screen)

How much space do I need for my videos?

On average you are going to need approx. 40MB per minute for HD video (1080p). So a 10 minute video will consume almost 400MB. If you use the Pause/Resume feature, you won't use nearly as much space, but keep an eye on the recording time so you'll be able to gauge.

TIP: If you have an iPhone 7 or better you can save 1/2 the space by selecting the video Custom Settings option and using the "High Efficiency" option.

3) Tap the 'Select' button in the top-right corner of the screen

When opening the app I’m getting a low disk space warning saying I have 1.76 gb available, despite having 20gb available on phone. Why the discrepancy?

This discrepancy has been fixed in ScoreCam version 3.3.0 and above for devices running iOS 11 or higher. Otherwise, this warning is only an estimate of space left on the device and you should still be able to record if you really do have space left.

Also, Apple is providing the allotted space on a per-app basis so this may be different that what you see from settings. You may want to remove deleted videos/photos or other data to free up more space (iPhone settings, General, iPhone Storage) as we are not able to free up space or remove photos even if they are in the 'Recently Deleted' album.

Once connected, any changes on ScoreCam or Scoreboard Remote will sync in either direction. (Except for Game Clock information. If connected, it is only one way: Remote to ScoreCam)

After updating the Scoreboard Remote app the video on the ScoreCam device kept shutting off when I had my remote control connected to it. I also had difficulty connecting the remote to the ScoreCam recording device (or other weird, random issues). What's going on and what can I do to fix this?

I just recorded a video but can't get it to save to the photo library on my iPad. Is there another way to retrieve it out of the local files area of ScoreCam? When I try to save to the photo library I get an error code: Error! Video could not save; Error domanin=PHPhotosErrorDomain Code=-1"(null)"

You can get to the video if you attach your device to a computer and use iTunes. See Apple's official documentation: https://support.apple.com/lv-lv/HT201301

Here are the steps for ScoreCam:

  1. Open iTunes on your Mac or PC
  2. Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your computer using the USB cable that came with your device
  3. Click your device in iTunes. Get help if you can't find it
  4. In the left sidebar, click File Sharing
  5. Select the ScoreCam app from the list which is displayed. Video should show up in the "ScoreCam Documents" area
  6. Select the movie and select the "Save..." button to save the file

Is there a way to record the games without livestream and not have the controls show up?

Yes. Go to settings and toggle the "Hide Controls when connected" option.

Once this enabled and then go to the main screen and swipe right to hide the controls.

Does ScoreCam have a way to lock the focus during recording? There is too much "focus hunting" in certain light conditions and I want to eliminate that.

Yes. Tap and hold at a focus point on the screen to enable focus lock. Tap and hold again to turn this off.

When using the Scoreboard Remote app, is there a way to see what is recording on ScoreCam?

Yes, you can tap the "View Finder" icon (top bar, opposite the settings icon). That will bring up an image of your current view.

You can adjust the quality of this image from the settings area on Scoreboard Remote.

I just had a recording error. Is there any way to recover the video or did I lose it forever? Please help!

Yes, you can recover the video. Check the local library as that's the place where videos are automatically recovered if something should go wrong.

Just Tap the library folder icon next to the settings icon in the top right. Then tap the "View Local Files" button at the bottom of the screen. If a crash happened or you shut down the app without saving, this is where the file would be.

I paid for the yearly subscription and then recently I got another email from Apple saying they were going to charge me again. How do I get this straightened out?

If you got charged twice using the same Apple ID then that must be a system error on Apple's Part. Please contact them.
