Scoreboard Settings
Configure every aspect of how the scoreboard looks and behaves, from the sport style and team names to clock behavior and on-screen positioning. Access these settings by tapping the scoreboard edit button.
Style & Sport
The scoreboard style determines the sport layout, the scoring controls that appear on screen, and whether a game clock and shot clock are supported. (Shot clock, presented as "Play Clock" on Footboard, is available on Logoboard, Hockeyboard, and Footboard.) Choose the style that matches your sport before the game begins.
All available styles are listed below, grouped by sport.
Boards without a badge are included free. Boards marked PRO require the PRO in-app upgrade. Some boards work for more than one sport and are listed under each applicable category.

Simple two-team scoreboard with team names, large two-digit scores, and a period counter in the center. A clean, no-clock layout that also works well for volleyball or any sport that just needs a score and a period number.

On-screen controls: five +/− columns for Balls / Strikes / Outs / Pitches / Inning (Balls wrap at 4, Strikes at 3, Outs at 4), a Reset B/S button, tap-to-toggle base buttons, and a Reset Pitches button.

Tournament-style pickleball tracker. Shows team names and the current game score, with each completed game preserved as its own column to the left so the full match history is always visible. A serve dot indicates who is serving; a second dot appears in Doubles mode for first vs. second server. Choose Best of 3 or Best of 5 from the on-screen controls. Animated TIMEOUT and FINAL popups are available on demand.

Volleyball-specific layout that shows each team's current set score and running set count side-by-side. Uses the configurable "Other Color 1/2" settings for the score panel and background so you can match team or venue colors.

Flipboard II's centered set-score display makes it a natural fit for volleyball, letting you show both the current set points and running set total at a glance.

Two-player tennis layout showing player names, point score, games per set, and sets per match. When Tennis Scoring is enabled, the point column uses traditional 15 / 30 / 40 / Deuce / Ad notation and advances automatically. Court colors (background and panels) are user-configurable.

Hockey scoreboard with team names, scores, period, and game clock. Includes a dedicated power play clock that appears automatically (colored to match the team on the power play) whenever a penalty timer is running, and clears itself when the penalty expires. Penalty controls are always available on the operator panel and the Scoreboard Remote. Minor and major penalty lengths are configurable per profile (default 2:00 and 5:00).
Pool / Billiards

9-Ball Pool
Specialized 9-ball board with team names, scores, a possession arrow that points to the shooting team, and a visual 9-ball rack that shows which balls remain on the table. Optional team logos flank the display.
Tip: You can switch the scoreboard style at any time from the scoreboard settings, even between periods. The new style takes effect immediately on the next recorded frame.
Team Configuration
Identity settings for the two teams and the game itself.
The name displayed for the home team. Keep it short, since most scoreboard styles have limited width for team names. Abbreviations (e.g., "LAKERS", "CHI") work well. Tap the library icon next to the field to pick from your saved Team Library, which fills in the name and team color at once.
The name displayed for the visiting team. Same guidelines as the home team name. Tap the library icon to pick from your saved teams.
A short label that categorizes the game, such as "Varsity", "JV", "Playoff", or "Tournament". Tap the picker to choose from your saved Game Type library, or type a custom value. The selected game type is stored separately from the game description so it can be reused across many games.
Optional freeform text shown within or below the scoreboard, for context like "Playoff Game 3" or "Home vs. Away". Tap the picker to choose from your saved Description library. Not all scoreboard styles display this field.
For scoreboards that support multiple scoring modes (such as tennis), this controls what unit the score buttons increment and display. In standard modes this is simply "Points". The Tennisboard can switch between standard numeric and traditional tennis notation (15 / 30 / 40 / Deuce / Ad). Tap the picker to choose from your saved Score Type library for quick access to commonly used modes.
Team Library: Save your frequently used teams once, including name, color, and logo, and apply them to any game in seconds. Open the Team Library from the scoreboard settings, add a team, and it appears in the picker next to each team name field. Team logos live in the Team Library, so a team's logo follows it into any profile, and onto the Scoreboard Remote. Updating a saved team does not retroactively change past recordings.
Colors & Logos
Customize the visual appearance of each team's section of the scoreboard. Score text colors adjust automatically: each score label uses black or white based on which provides better contrast against the team's chosen color.
The primary accent or background color for the home team's side of the scoreboard. A color picker lets you match the team's actual colors. This color appears in the team name band, score background, or both, depending on the scoreboard style.
The primary accent color for the away team's side of the scoreboard.
Some scoreboard styles support one or two additional accent colors for elements like the background, dividers, or clock area. These appear under an "Other Colors" section labeled "Color 1" and "Color 2" in the settings.
When On, displays a team logo image in the home team's section of the scoreboard instead of (or alongside) the solid color block. The logo image is configured separately in the scoreboard editor. When Off, only the team color is shown.
Supported formats: PNG, JPEG, and PDF. PDF is recommended if your logo was originally designed as vector art: ScoreCam renders the first page of the PDF at 2× the page size when you import it, so the resulting image is cleaner and sharper than exporting a low-resolution PNG from your design tool. The transparent background of a PDF (or PNG) also lets the team color show through around the logo shape.

When On, both team names are displayed at the same font size regardless of their length, giving the scoreboard a consistent, symmetric appearance. When Off, longer names may render at a slightly reduced size to fit within the available space.

Position & Size
Control where the scoreboard appears on the video frame and how large it is.
Choose one of six positions for the scoreboard on the video frame.

The size of the scoreboard expressed as a percentage of its default size. 100% is the designed default. Reduce to make the scoreboard smaller and leave more room for the game action. Typical values: 70-110%.
Default: 100%
Fine-tunes how far the scoreboard sits from the edges of the frame. There are four margin values: left, right, top, and bottom. Adjust these if the scoreboard overlaps with on-field graphics, sideline markings, or referee areas.
On-Screen Controls
On-screen controls are the small operator panel that appears on top of the camera preview so you can update scores, the clock, the period, and other game state without a second device. Most scoreboards show a simple + / − panel; the boards below have full custom control panels tailored to the sport.

Tap-to-Edit Fields
Several labels on the control panels are directly tappable, so you can update them without opening Scoreboard Settings:
- Team name: on the Clock and Hockey control panels, tap either team's name at the top to open the Team Library picker. Choose a saved team to swap in the name and color instantly.
- Period / Quarter: on Footboard, Pickleboard, Clock, and Hockey controls, tap the period label to open the period pad. Includes Half and Final defaults plus any custom labels you've saved (see Custom Period Labels below).
- Score entry: on Footboard and Pickleboard, tap either score to open a numeric entry pad and set the value directly instead of tapping +/− repeatedly.
Move and Resize the Controls Panel
Drag the control panel to move it: press on the panel background and slide it where you want, then release to drop it. Pinch with two fingers to resize it right on the camera preview. Positions are saved per orientation (portrait and landscape are independent) and stored on the active Scoreboard Profile, so each profile can have its own layout.
Open Settings, Lock, and Show/Hide
Press and hold a control panel to jump straight to its On-Screen Controls settings. To keep a panel from moving during a game, turn off the Draggable toggle in that section: the buttons still work, but the panel stays put. You can also swipe left or right across the camera preview to show or hide the on-screen controls at any time.
Panel Size & Opacity
Inside the profile detail view, the On-Screen Controls section includes sliders that let you resize the controls panel and adjust its opacity over the camera preview. Make the panel smaller and lower its opacity when you want a cleaner view of the game; make it larger and fully opaque when you're actively scoring.
Reset Controls Position
If you've dragged the panel somewhere awkward, open Scoreboard Profile Detail → On-Screen Controls and tap Reset Controls Position. This restores the default location for the current orientation. The size and opacity sliders live in the same section.
Custom Period Labels
The period pad (opened either from on-screen controls or from Scoreboard Remote) is not limited to numbers. Type any short label (OT, OT 1, OT 2, SO for shootout, or a specific label your sport uses) and it will appear on the scoreboard. Half and Final are always available as one-tap presets. Any custom labels you enter are saved to the label picker so they can be reused instantly for the rest of the game and future games.
Tip: If you have a Scoreboard Remote connected, enable Hide Controls When Connected in App Settings › Scoreboard Remote so the on-screen panel disappears once the remote takes over, giving the camera operator a completely clean view.
Game Clock
Settings for the primary game clock shown on scoreboards that support a timer. Not all scoreboard styles include a game clock, so these settings only apply when the selected style supports one.
Toggle the clock display on or off. Even if the scoreboard style supports a clock, you can hide it here (for example, if you only want to show scores without a timer).
Default: On (when supported)
The period length, which is also the time the clock starts at and the time it jumps to when you tap the reset button. For a count-down clock set this to the period length (for example, 12:00 for a 12-minute basketball quarter). For a count-up clock the clock starts at 0:00 and this is the target it counts toward.
When Off, the clock counts down from the Reset Time toward 0:00, which suits most sports. When On, the clock counts up from 0:00, which is typical for soccer match time.
Default: Off (counts down)
When On, tapping the ScoreCam pause button automatically pauses the game clock as well. This keeps the recorded clock time synchronized with the actual game time across video segments.

On Hockey and the clock-based boards (such as Logoboard, Clock Longboard, and Soccerboard), the top row that shows the team names and period can be hidden for a cleaner clock-and-score layout. Turn it off to hide the header.

Clock controls: Whether the Start/Pause and Reset buttons appear on the camera preview, along with their size, opacity, and whether the panel can be dragged, is governed by the single
Show Controls toggle in the
On-Screen Controls section, not by the Game Clock section.
Shot Clock
Settings for a secondary shot clock, available on Logoboard, Hockeyboard, and Footboard. On Footboard it is presented as the "Play Clock." The shot clock is a separate countdown timer independent of the game clock, with two reset values you can tap during play.
Toggle the shot clock (or Play Clock) display on or off. Only available on scoreboard styles that include shot clock support (Logoboard, Hockeyboard, and Footboard).
Default: On (when supported)
The time the shot clock resets to when the first reset button is tapped. This is the full shot clock duration for a new possession (for example, 24 seconds after a new possession in basketball).
Default: 30 seconds (Footboard Play Clock: 40 seconds)
A second reset value for the shot clock. It supports the shorter reset used in situations like an offensive rebound in basketball (for example, resetting to 14 seconds rather than the full duration).
Default: 20 seconds (Footboard Play Clock: 25 seconds)
Clock controls: The shot clock's Start/Pause and Reset buttons follow the same single
Show Controls toggle in the
On-Screen Controls section. There is no separate shot clock control-visibility setting.
Animations
Choose how the score display changes when a point is scored. The animation plays in the live camera preview and is burned into the recorded video.

Branding
Add branding or sponsor graphics that overlay your video, independent of the team logos on the scoreboard. Each profile can hold up to five branding or ad images, each with its own on-screen position and size. Branding is part of the ScoreCam Branding subscription.
Supported formats: PNG, JPEG, and PDF. PDF and PNG both support transparency, so a shaped sponsor logo shows only its own outline over the video rather than a rectangular background. Importing from PDF gives you a cleaner result if you have vector source art, since ScoreCam renders the PDF at 2× the page size before storing it.
Manage all of a profile's branding and ad images in one editor: add images,
drag to reorder them, and
swipe to delete. Each image keeps its own position and size. Show or hide your branding during recording using a gesture (see
Gesture Assignments) or from the Scoreboard Remote. Use these for sponsor logos, a team watermark, or rotating ads to help fund your program.
A scoreboard style that shows just your branding or ad graphics, with no score panel. Pick it like any other style when you want the broadcast to feature sponsors or a title card. The profile wizard seeds a starter image so you have something to position right away. Requires the Branding subscription.
Scoreboard Profiles
A Scoreboard Profile is a saved set of scoreboard settings (style, team names, colors, logos, position, clock configuration, and animation) stored under a name you choose. Profiles let you configure each team or tournament once and switch between them in seconds, without re-entering anything.
One profile is always active. Its settings are what appear on the scoreboard during recording. Switching profiles applies all of that profile's settings to the scoreboard immediately.
Profiles save: scoreboard style, team names, team colors, team logos, branding images, position, scale, margins, game clock settings, shot clock settings, and animation style. Live game state (current scores, period, and running clock time) is never stored in a profile.
Creating a Profile
Tap the scoreboard edit button to open the profile list, then tap the + button in the top toolbar. A wizard walks you through each step:
StyleChoose the scoreboard style. Style is locked after creation, so to use a different style, create a new profile.
Team InfoEnter home and away team names and colors, turn team logos on or off, and set the game type, description, and score type.
Position & ScaleSet where the scoreboard appears on the frame and its scale.
BrandingAdd branding or sponsor images that overlay the video (part of the Branding subscription).
ClockGame clock and shot clock (or play clock) settings together: reset time, count up, and reset values.
AnimationChoose the score animation style.
NameGive the profile a descriptive name, e.g., "Varsity Boys Basketball" or "Spring Soccer League."
Managing Profiles
Tap a profile name in the list. All scoreboard settings switch immediately, both in the live preview and in subsequent recordings.
Swipe right on a profile row and tap Edit, tap the disclosure arrow, or long-press the row and choose Edit from the context menu. All fields except the scoreboard style can be changed after creation.
Long-press a profile row to open a context menu with Edit, Duplicate, Rename, and Delete actions.
Swipe right on a profile row and tap Duplicate. The copy is inserted directly below the original. Use this to create a variant, for example a version with alternate team colors for a neutral-site game.
Tap the Edit button in the top-right corner of the profile list, then drag profiles into your preferred order. Place your most-used profiles at the top for quick access.
Swipe left on a profile row and tap Delete. At least one profile must always exist. Activate a different profile before attempting to delete the currently active one.
Built-in profiles: ScoreCam pre-loads one default profile for each scoreboard style on first launch. These can be edited, renamed, and deleted like any other profile.
