X (Twitter) Setup Guide

How to stream live on X using ScoreCam. Note: X Premium subscription is required for live streaming on X.

Overview

X Premium required. Live streaming on X is only available to X Premium subscribers. If you do not have an X Premium subscription, you will not be able to go live on X.

X (formerly Twitter) live streaming requires X Premium. In ScoreCam, X is a standard manual RTMP setup: you create an RTMP source in X Media Studio, then copy the RTMP URL and Stream Key into ScoreCam. In the ScoreCam account editor this platform is labeled X (Twitter).

Where the RTMP details come from. X provides your RTMP URL and Stream Key in X Media Studio. Open studio.x.com, then go to More (···)Media StudioSources. X Premium is required to access live streaming.

The setup is a one-time step: create an RTMP source in X Media Studio and copy the RTMP URL and Stream Key into ScoreCam. After that, tap Go Live in ScoreCam for each game.

Creating an RTMP Source

This is a one-time setup step. Once you create an RTMP source in X Media Studio, you can reuse the same URL and key for every game.

1

Open X Media Studio

Go to studio.x.com and sign in with your X account, then open More (···)Media Studio. You must have X Premium active to access live streaming features.

2

Open Sources

In Media Studio, open the Sources panel. A source is a reusable RTMP connection point that feeds your video into X.

3

Create an RTMP Source

Choose Create sourceRTMP, then select the region closest to where you typically stream, for example US East, US West, or Europe. Choosing the right region reduces latency and improves stream stability.

4

Copy the RTMP URL and Stream Key

The RTMP URL and Stream Key are shown for the source you just created. Copy both into ScoreCam. ScoreCam pre-fills the RTMP URL as rtmp://ingest.x.com/live/, but paste the full URL shown in Media Studio if it differs.

Things to Know

  • The RTMP source is reusable. Once created in Media Studio, you can find and copy the URL and key again anytime without recreating it. Go to Sources in Media Studio and select your source to view its credentials.
  • Choose a region close to your venue. This reduces ingest latency and improves stream stability.
  • X streams are Public by default. There is currently no private or unlisted option for live streams on X.

Going Live

Once your RTMP URL and Stream Key are saved in ScoreCam, going live is a single step: tap Go Live in ScoreCam. ScoreCam connects to X's ingest server and begins sending your video.

Pick a region close to your venue when you create the source. This reduces latency and improves stream stability.
If your stream does not appear right away, confirm it on X. Streaming platforms can take a few moments to publish an incoming stream after the connection starts.

Sharable Link

ScoreCam lets you set one optional Sharable Link per account. This is a static link you enter yourself, for example your X profile or a page where viewers can find your stream. ScoreCam does not generate a per-broadcast link and does not capture a post URL from X.

  • Enter a Sharable Link in the account settings for your X account if you want ScoreCam to help you share it.
  • When enabled, ScoreCam prompts you to share this link as you go live.
  • X streams are Public. There is no private or unlisted option for live streams on X.
